SBG 2:31

स्वधर्ममपि चावेक्ष्य न विकम्पितुमर्हसि |

धर्म्याद्धि युद्धाच्छ्रेयोऽन्यत्क्षत्रियस्य न विद्यते || २ ३१ ||

svadharma-mapi chaavekshya

na vikampitu-marhasi

dharmyaaddhi yuddhaach reyo ‘nyat-

kshatriyasya na vidhyate (SBG 2:31)

Considering your duty as a Kshatriya, you should not falter, as there is no greater work for you than a battle which protects Dharma (righteousness).

SBG 2:33

अथ चेत्त्वमिमं धर्म्यं संग्रामं न करिष्यसि |

ततः स्वधर्मं कीर्तिं च हित्वा पापमवाप्स्यसि || २ ३३ ||

atha chettva-mimam dharmyam

sangraamam na karishyasi

tatah svadharmam kiirtim cha

hitvaa paapa-mavaapsyasi (SBG 2:33)

If you don’t fight this battle of Dharma (righteousness), you will be a sinner by failing in your duty, and it will cause the loss of your standing as a warrior.

  1. Dear Tavamithram Sarvada,

    Your messages from Srimad Bhagavad Gita have helped me in overcoming pain, fear and helplessness. We lost our only child last year. It is not easy, every second we find it difficult to move it’s not easy. Your messages give us courage and help us understand life. Thank you very much

    1. Dear Sunitha Ghorpade,

      I am extremely sorry to hear about the loss of your child. Aum Shanti.

      The only answer and possible way for you and your family to accept such a loss and continue discharging your Karmic duties correctly would be through the knowledge of Vedanta.

      I hope you have watched my videos titled, The Two Truths, What is Moksha, What is Atma, and others.

      Are you aware of the courses I offer on Udemy?

      When one faces a situation which cannot be reversed, what he or she needs the most would be to learn to come to terms with reality. This is certainly the way to prevent the creeping in of irrational ideas such as bad horoscopes, ‘past Karma’, and so on. I would also suggest my video titled 101/100 (bonus video) of the 100 SBG Shlokas course.

      I would like to extend my emotional support to you and your family and wish you peace.

      Jai Shri Krishna
