इन्द्रियाणि मनो बुद्धिरस्याधिष्ठानमुच्यते |
एतैर्विमोहयत्येष ज्ञानमावृत्य देहिनम् || ३ ४० ||
indriyaaNi mano buddhir-
asyaadhist-haa-namuchyate
etair-vimohayat-yesha-
jnaana-maavrtya dehinam (SBG 3:40)

The senses, the mind and the intelligence are called the seats of lust. They shroud the power of discrimination and knowledge and delude the embodied Self.

तस्मात्त्वमिन्द्रियाण्यादौ नियम्य भरतर्षभ |
पाप्मानं प्रजहि ह्येनं ज्ञानविज्ञाननाशनम् || ३ ४१ ||

niyamya bharatar-shabha
paap-maanam prajahi hyenam
gnyaana-vignyaana-naashanam (SBG 3:41)

Therefore, control the senses right in the beginning, O Arjuna, and kill the thing that destroys knowledge and the realisation of the Self.
