Unravelling the Illusion of Fate in a Stochastic Universe

Many people believe there’s a ‘grand plan’ behind everything—a higher power or force shaping events through fate, destiny, or divine will. This belief often leads us to surrender a significant portion of our mental capacity and autonomy to things we cannot fully prove: unseen beings, sacred books, religious intermediaries, and abstract concepts. But what if this comforting story is merely a creation we’ve been telling ourselves for centuries? Even more troubling is that such beliefs breed a sense of entitlement, creating divisions among individuals, fostering inequality, envy, jealousy, and belligerence—forces that ultimately damage lives, relationships, and our natural world.

In this short presentation, I confront the illusion of fate head-on. Let us examine the stochastic nature of existence—not through superstition or sentiment, but through reason, science, and Vedanta. From the genetic lottery you were born into, to the subtle conditioning shaped by environment and epigenetics, you’ll see how much of your life has just happened. No blueprint. No cosmic purpose. No invisible puppeteer.

Let us question why religions and mythologies have always tried to impose order upon chaos, and why fatalism is just another form of resignation. I present Karma not as divine justice, but simply as cause and effect. Actions and consequences, not punishments and rewards.

And yet, this isn’t a descent into nihilism. Far from it.

To embrace randomness is to reject the passive comfort of fate and to step into clarity. Life doesn’t need a script to have meaning. Meaning arises not from predestination, but from conscious living in an unpredictable world.

This presentation is for the quietly curious, the disillusioned believer, the sceptic, the philosopher—and anyone ready to ask: What if chance isn’t your enemy, but your liberation?

Haven’t you completed the Srimad Bhagavad Gita yet? Here is your solution:

Unlocking the Power of Your Choices

The Shocking Power of Your Choices: What You Sow Now, You Reap Later

Have you ever stopped to consider how the choices you made in the past have shaped your life today, and how the choices you make today will shape the life you’ll lead tomorrow? It’s a profound thought, one that often goes unnoticed in the hustle and bustle of daily life. Yet, the reality is that every decision, big or small, sets the stage for your future.

Imagine your life as a garden. The seeds you plant now—your choices, actions, and even thoughts—will grow and flourish, determining the landscape of your tomorrow. But here’s the kicker: not all seeds bear the fruit you desire. Some choices can lead to a bountiful harvest, while others may result in weeds that choke out your potential. Try it, and you will see that you can almost always trace everything you do, have, or not have to some small choice you made in the past.

In this video presentation, we will delve deep into this concept, exploring the hidden power of the everyday choices we make. We’ll uncover how every decision we make impacts our future, often in ways we can’t foresee. Through my own real-life example and thought-provoking insights, we’ll see how to make choices that align with the life we truly want to live.

Don’t miss out on this eye-opening exploration of how your current decisions will echo through the years to come. Watch the video and discover the importance of everything you think, say, or do that can plant the seeds of a fulfilling, successful, and happy future.

Beyond Prayers and Miracles – The Rational Path to Self-Realisation

Transform Your Life with Vedanta, The Science of all Sciences

WATCH THIS AND CLEAR YOUR HEAD OF ALL UNWANTED STUFF:

When ignorance becomes the norm, entire masses of people can be easily swayed to firmly believe the unreal to be real. The crucial factor in society that enables a select few to manipulate their minds is the ignorance of the masses, which basically stems from blind beliefs that numb their brains, and sheer laziness to make a move to get out of ignorance.

People come to my blog, watch some of my videos, and ask me what they should do to change their lives. Almost everyone wants instant solutions, and they are even willing to pay for shortcuts! One should not overlook the fact that even the act of going to a religious place and praying for what one wants is a form of seeking shortcuts.

But the truth is that everything has a price, and everything is part of the never-ending cause-and-effect chain. Asking someone or ‘god’ to give them what they want could only mean that the so-called ‘god’ changes his plans to suit the needs of the one praying. So, what about the others? Do their lives get destroyed because someone else prayed and got things done by ‘god’ to do things their way? Really? So, what happens when two entities at war with each other pray to the same ‘god’? Who do you think ‘god’ will bless with special favours?!

How many people really dare to make massive changes in their lives, have the courage to travel around, experience and learn more, and evolve? Krishna says in Shloka SBG 7:19, “Therefore, after innumerable births, the one who has perfected his or her wisdom, understanding fully My universal reality, surrenders to Me and such an individual is very rare.”

So, with a default state of mind of wanting to maintain the status quo, people tend to look for easy ways out, shortcuts, middlemen, and women who can help them achieve success through the short path, which is a form of corruption or fraud. It is because people want something without really working for it.

When did Krishna say in the Srimad Bhagavad Gita to go to his temples, perform meaningless rites and rituals with the mammary milk of poor voiceless animals, sing songs in His praise, chant Mantras the whole day, and do nothing else? The clear instruction in the second chapter is that you only have the right to work, but never to claim its results. The results of your actions should never be your motive, but at the same time, you should not be attached to inaction.

Then why do people perform religious rites to fulfill personal desires?

Vedanta and the Srimad Bhagavad Gita

Shloka 18:66 of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita does not mean that one should have blind belief in Krishna.

Krishna says in SBG 18:66, “Giving up all your ideas of righteousness or religion, take complete refuge in Me. I will liberate you from all sinful reactions. Do not fear.”

It means, “Give up all the nonsensical ideas you might have in the name of religion, and by adopting the logical analysis and reasoning provided throughout until the 18th chapter, become one with Krishna.”

The entire purpose of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita is to guide people to shed their false beliefs and take to a rational study of truth. The process is very simple with three stages:

  1. Sidhaanta – A Question, Idea, Concept, or Theory
  2. Saadhana – The means to study, including reading, listening, researching, analysing, debating, etc.
  3. Siddhi – Final understanding, internalisation, and experience, known as Anubhava in Sanskrit.

Scientists don’t believe anything without evidence, do they? Remember that Vedanta is the science of all sciences.

Reason and Logic in the Srimad Bhagavad Gita

The Srimad Bhagavad Gita talks about reason and logic and NEVER about belief.

SBG 13:4 states, “Great sages have sung about the absolute truth in various ways. They have stated the truth in Vedic hymns and have described it in the Brahma Sutras through reason and logic with unambiguous evidence.”

Shloka SBG 4:34 says, “Acquire knowledge through reverence to teachers who have known the Truth, serve them and ask them questions until all of them are answered. The wise who know the Truth will teach it to you.”

Definition of Religion

Religion is a system of beliefs, practices, and values often centred around the worship of a higher power or divine beings. It typically involves rituals, moral guidelines, and a community of followers who share the same belief and faith.

Did you find anything related to reason, rationality, science, inquiry, or logic in this definition?

Vedanta: The Pinnacle of Vedic Studies

Vedanta is the highest point of Vedic studies – right from the basic Karma Kaanda, Upaasana Kaanda to the Gnyaana Kaanda of the Upanishads.

If you are interested in changing your life COMPLETELY and are willing to clear your mind of all the unfounded beliefs you have been trained by your elders to blindly believe, please feel free to contact me.

I do not talk about miracles performed by some man in a cave, one with a long beard, or another with fuzzy hair. Out here, it is pure Advaita Vedanta – Nondual Vedanta, and the compact and best manual for attaining the highest understanding of the nondual, all-pervading SELF is the Srimad Bhagavad Gita.

A real shift to Vedanta is a complete change with no traces of illogical or irrational ideas sticking in the mind in the name of belief, ‘aastha’, religion, or whatever.

“Before you heal someone, ask him if he’s willing to give up the things that make him sick,” said Hippocrates. Just as baseless beliefs can be likened to mental diseases, one must be willing to abandon them to achieve true healing and enlightenment. Therefore, start with a clean slate.

SBG 4:38 Shri Krishna says: “There is certainly nothing more purifying than knowledge. He who is perfect in Yoga finds it in the Self in due course of time.”

Chasing Shadows: The Myth of Falling in Love Twice

Loving the ‘Ghosts’ of the Past

The Illusions of Rekindled Love

To rekindle love with the same person is to engage not with the individual afresh but with the echoes of memories. This profound realisation speaks to the heart’s intrinsic tendency to seek comfort in the familiar, often failing to distinguish between past and present.

When you attempt to fall in love a second time with the same person, it is not the person themselves that you are drawn to, but rather the nostalgic recollections of who they once were in your life. The heart, in its yearning, seeks not the present reality but the cherished illusions of the past. This longing is similar to chasing a mirage, where the closer you believe you are to reclaiming that love, the further you drift from the truth of the now.

mirage 02

Memories hold a powerful sway over us. They encapsulate moments of joy, connection, and intimacy, making them seem far more vibrant than the reality might have been. Everyone changes in life. Their looks, likes, dislikes, attitudes, expectations from others, and overall philosophy of life keep changing. When a person endeavours to rediscover a lost love, the truth is that they are not engaging with the person as they are in the present moment, with all their growth, changes, and complexities. Instead, they entwine themselves with the shadows of what once was, rather than the essence of what is.

This pursuit is fraught with peril. It sets us on a path where the idealised past overshadows the potential of the present. The beauty of memory lies in its ability to preserve moments, yet its danger resides in its capacity to imprison us within them. By constantly looking backwards, we risk missing the opportunities for genuine connection and growth that exist in the present.

To truly understand the nature of love is to recognise its fluidity. Love is not a static entity that can be perfectly recaptured once lost; it is an evolving force that thrives in the present moment. Embracing this perspective allows us to honour our memories, all of which are learning experiences, without becoming enslaved by them, and opening ourselves to the possibility of new experiences and deeper connections.

In the end, the quest to fall in love again with the same person teaches us a poignant lesson: the past, with all its beauty and pain, should be cherished but not clung to. The essence of true love lies in its ability to adapt, to grow, and to find beauty in the present, rather than in the shadows of what once was.

The Greatest Gift to Yourself

“Nothing in this Life is Permanent, not even our Problems” – Charlie Chaplin

“Life is a tragedy when seen in close-up, but a comedy in long-shot.”

Charlie Chaplin once told a joke in front of an audience.

Everyone laughed.

And he told it a second time, so only a few laughed.

When he told it for the third time, no one laughed.

Then he said these beautiful words.

So cherish every moment life throws your way. Charlie Chaplin crafted a timeless legacy, his words resonating deeply without causing harm. These phrases, stirring the heart, stand as a testament to his profound impact.

Below are three quotes from Charlie Chaplin who is also known as the greatest showman of all times.

“Ithaca” – an Imaginary Destination of Life

“How I wish I had a million dollars!”

“How I wish I had my own beach mansion!”

“How I wish I were the CEO of the company I work for!”

“How I wish I had my own sports car!”

“How I wish I could buy a private jet for myself!”

Well, so what if you had a million dollars? So what if you could have all your above dreams fulfilled? What difference would it make to you and to the world? Would you stop wanting for more once you have achieved your goals? When you make your first million dollars, after a  brief moment of happiness and pride due to a sense of achievement, what you would do would be to set your next goal at ten million. It will go on. That’s what normal people do.

Great achievers, in fact, set goals that they are well aware they can never achieve in their lives. It is because such goals will keep them busy, on their toes, and ever motivated.

Those who have lived lives that are full, who have rolled in money and have also seen broke days, have experienced dualities such as pain and pleasure, great ups and massive downs, grand successes and huge failures, great friends and horrible betrayers, have been fit as a fiddle and yet ill at times, or have been at the heights of power and have also been through unceremonious ousters; are the ones who can rise above all dualities, and treat equally all situations as great learning opportunities.

‘Ithaca’ is a poem written by Greek poet Constantine P. Cavafy, and translated into English by  Edmund Keeley and Philip Sherrard. It is a poem that I first came across some three decades ago, at a time when I had not yet really set off on the main leg of my grand voyage through life.

Looking back now, I can relate to almost every word in the poem, which strengthens my conviction that Life is indeed the Greatest Gift. Everything and everyone in it is a great learning experience. However, attachment to any of those fleeting experiences can only stall the journey towards your ‘Ithaca’, which is where, you are destined to arrive as a complete, wise, learned, well-experienced, kind, compassionate, grateful, and responsible human being.

You only live twice

You, as an individual, have only one life, but then, your life until this very moment is gone, and therefore, your life from now on could be called your second life. What if you had a teacher or guide that would show you the way into a future that is bright, enriching, and fulfilling, thereby saving you enormous amounts of time?

Such a guide is the Srimad Bhagavad Gita, which is a life-changing book that can help you have clarity in the way you think, work, and live. Anyone who knows how to come to terms with challenging situations and manage them in a deft manner is always peaceful and never under stress. When you worry, you not only create unwanted negative images in your mind which could carry the propensity of becoming reality, but by doing so, you would only be wasting time that could have been spent in a better way creating your future. You can either live every moment of your life or waste it, turning it into a stepping stone for you to get closer to the end of your sojourn on the planet. Every moment, when consciously lived and experienced, can be as rich and fulfilling as one’s entire lifetime.

Everyone goes through situations that they do not like or those that could be causing them sadness. The wise know to step outside themselves, observe the situation they are in, think calmly, and come out with a good solution.

The two basic drives: There are two objectives that people have. The first one is the natural instinct to survive, and the second one is to derive pleasure. The three levels before attaining the final goal of realising Brahman are:

  • Body
  • Mind
  • Atman and beyond.

In the first level of the physical body, people strive to satisfy it through consuming food, working on their appearance, and attaining physical comfort. Once a person has achieved the first level, they prefer something that would be good for their mind and ego. All worldly achievements that are associated with wealth, power, position, and reputation or image come under this category. Love for art can also be grouped under this level.

Those who are satisfied with the worldly comforts they have received, then start looking for something that would satisfy their soul. This includes spiritual studies, meditation, being close to nature and also higher levels of art such as music. People who have cleared the first three steps are finally ready for Self-realisation or experiencing Brahman.

In the Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Krishna the JagadGuru or teacher of the world has cogently and lucidly explained in a rational manner the most important truths of life and death. A person with such clarity can bravely and intelligently face and handle even the toughest of challenges. However, most people find getting to read this scripture to be the main problem.

We are all aware that some major Gita organisations distribute big fat copies of the SBG to people. However, the big question is of what use it is? People hardly cross two pages, shut the book and put it away for a later time, probably until they enter their late sixties, or until the day they meet someone like me who talks them into reading it.

The challenge: People are generally not motivated or are probably lazy to read the SBG. It could be for three main reasons:

a. They are already convinced that the SBG is too deep and cannot be learned by oneself without the help of a teacher.

b. The thought that philosophy and spirituality are for ‘old people,’ and that it does not go together with the material world of family and career.

c. The scripture, which is highly metaphorical, can sometimes go over the head of a reader who is not mentally prepared for such knowledge.

The solution: Instead of organising high-level spiritual Satsangs, or distributing fat books among people who are beginners in the subject, the best solution would be a short e-book that is tightly packed with the core information of the SBG in it, and that people could carry on their phones. This book/e-book, with well-defined sections and subheadings, is easy to read and complete within a short duration of time. It would enable the easy internalising of the ESSENCE of the philosophy of the SBG taught in it. People who have reached this preparatory stage would naturally be inclined and driven to go further and deeper into the study of Vedanta.

b. Capture the Essence – Srimad Bhagavad Gita Paperback and e-book editions of a short book containing brief summaries of the 18 Chapters sprinkled with the author’s thoughts and interpretations.

“Wouldn’t people be willing to invest INR 100/USD 2.99 for an E-book or INR 250/USD 8 for a paperback version on something that can change the lives of themselves and of their loved ones?” I ask myself.

The reason for fixing a  price for this book is simply because most people tend to not pay heed to things that come for free and therefore end up not benefiting from such resources. Nevertheless, I might consider looking for sponsors for printing in India copies of the ‘Capture the Essence – Srimad Bhagavad Gita’ to be distributed for free among students, young people, corporate employees, management staff, and others.

It is my fervent desire that just as I have done, others also attain spiritual and; mental freedom, feel liberated and learn to live a blessed life with great health, peace, love, freedom, prosperity, and fulfilment.

Every journey begins with the first step. Your first step in your journey towards Vedanta to acquire Vedantic spiritual knowledge would be getting yourself a copy of: ‘Capture the Essence – Srimad Bhagavad Gita.’

It costs a mere INR 100 or USD 2.99 for the e-book or INR 250 or USD 8 for the paperback version. It is a price worth paying to change your life for the better, isn’t it?
