‘Nepotism in Bollywood’ – Supporting and promoting their own children before anyone else
Not only humans but also most animals spend a lot of time and go to extraordinary lengths to teach their young ones important life skills. It is quite natural for parents to be generous with their children and to give them whatever they have. It is also their Karmic duty to provide their offspring with everything that is necessary for their comfortable travel through their Janma, for their intellectual and spiritual growth as well as for their Karmic ascent. Having a child or children is a great divine blessing which is priceless. Therefore prioritising one’s own children over others cannot be considered to be wrong.

Those who are successful in a particular field, pass on their success, knowledge, expertise, fame and wealth to their progeny or to children of people who are closely related to them. Such ‘successful’ people usually want their offspring to be the ones to benefit from their knowledge, power, position and prosperity. Most people in a creative industry such as ‘Bollywood’, which does not belong to any particular individual, try to promote their progeny. In such situations, nepotism is normal and there is nothing ‘Adharmic’ about it. Nevertheless, although children of rich and famous stars do have an edge over the others, it is their own past and present Karma that aid them in shaping their destiny. There have been numerous instances of people who failed in their career as well as in life despite being born to rich and famous parents.
Per contra, nepotism in politics is something that should be vehemently fought against because it is one of the biggest dangers to societies. It concerns the lives, livelihoods and the future of not only an entire generation of people but also of all future ones.
