What is Moksha or Salvation?

Life after death is one of the most excellent tools used in the ‘business’ of organised religion. Almost all organised religions have, as a core factor, death and what happens after death. Gullible poorly informed ‘sheeple’, which means ‘sheep people,’ willingly allow themselves to be ‘herded’ by some individual or organisation, and in fact, feel proud of being led by a ‘shepherd’.

It is quite understandable that Indians, whose forefathers converted to other religions, believe in those concepts and dogma, but what about the people of the Vedic Sanatana Dharma? The ignorance of the masses has been made good use of by certain individuals and organisations, and they have been doing exceedingly well in firmly establishing dualism and leading people deeper and deeper into superstition in the name of religion, faith, culture, tradition, ‘aasthaa’, ‘bhakti’ and so on.

The truth is that all one needs to do is to pick up a copy of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita, ignore all the lengthy interpretations, and read merely the translation of each of the 700 Shlokas.

Massive money-spinning enterprises have sprung up all over in which, poorly informed common people are sold advice by self-proclaimed ‘all-knowing’ charlatans posing as ‘gurus. Osho once said that fear and greed are the most important mass manipulation tools used in organised religion. He meant the fear of hell and the greed for heaven. The scriptures of one such organised religion says, ‘Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.’ The same scripture also says that the place for idolators, liars and all sinners after their deaths, would be a lake of fire and sulphur!

There are expensive courses on ‘how to deal with family troubles’, ‘how to deal with a dictatorial boss’, ‘how to protect oneself from gossiping colleagues,’ and so on! Sheeple, being sheeple, gladly pay for those courses and sincerely undergo them, only to find out some months or years later that they had been duped.

Ever since I started my main website, followed by the other sites I own, I have been talking people into reading the SBG. In order to make it even easier, I came out with a Run-through video on the SBG, paperbacks, audiobooks, e-books., and lately, my new book ‘Capture the Essence – Srimad Bhagavad Gita.’

Many times I have even compelled people, who wanted to speak with me, to first read the SBG and only after that, seek an appointment with me.

This video, which follows the The TWO TRUTHS of LIFE video, is simple and easy to understand. My prime intention behind making this video has been explained by me in the video. A person who has attained this knowledge will automatically be good at everything and therefore, I have no need to make separate videos on  ‘how to deal with family troubles’, ‘how to deal with a dictatorial boss’, ‘how to protect oneself from gossiping colleagues,’ and so on!

Please watch the entire video. It will be worth the time because it will certainly have an impact on the way you think about life, and help you fearlessly and confidently take control of it.

Stay blessed.

TVM Vegan

This is the ‘About’ page on the TVM Vegan Site.

Krishna, who goes by the name Tavamithram, is an entrepreneur, polyglot, adventurer, actor, language teacher, counsellor, committed parent, animal lover, hobby musician, vegan culinarian, Vedantist, Vedic astrologer, incorrigible optimist and an ardent devotee of the Divine, Omnipresent, Omnipotent, Primordial, Eternal and Supreme Bhagavan Shri Krishna.

What you eat has a direct impact on your mind.  When you eat food that is made from the flesh of animals, you subconsciously and even consciously know that the meat has been obtained by killing an animal. Everyone knows very well that no animal would jump with joy and offer its head under the butcher’s machete. Such food which is a result of gore, pain and death, is not considered to be Sattvic and hence the effect it has on the mind of the person eating it, for obvious reasons cannot be Sattvic.

Humans are not carnivorous. We do not have the kind of teeth or jaws that carnivorous animals possess. You cannot spring on a cow, bite it, kill it and eat its raw meat. Vegetarianism and Veganism are stages of human evolution. There comes a time when humans realise that they not only do not need meat, but that meat is also detrimental to their own bodies and soul.

It is heartening to see that Veganism is spreading in the West and that is where fashion begins. They have no religious, but only moral and health reasons to take to Veganism. One of the renowned champions of Veganism, Dr. Michael Klaper uses the term ‘Calf growth fluid’ to describe cow’s milk. He’s right! Has anyone heard of a tiger drinking cow’s milk or, for that matter, any adult animal drinking mammary milk?

The first step in preparing a meat dish is the MURDER of an innocent animal which loves life and is certainly unwilling to die.

About a hundred years ago, Europeans used to celebrate family get-togethers, marriages and festivals withwhat-if-cows-became-man-eaters sumptuous lunches.  They used to serve on the table stuffed pigs, lambs, goats, a stuffed head of a cow and so on. As time went by, things changed and people ceased stuffing large animals and roasting them as a whole. Instead, they chopped the meat into smaller pieces and served them as fried, baked or boiled dishes. Actually, this is also a kind of evolution in the human diet.  As time went by, young children began to express their disagreement with the slaughtering of animals. This process has taken a while in Western countries, but all this will certainly lead to a completely meat-free diet for humans in the future. Continue reading “TVM Vegan”

The TWO TRUTHS of LIFE

*In order for the video to make the best of this video, please go through the following post before watching the video.

*You could choose to listen to this audio, or if you wish, you could also play the audio and simultaneously read the introduction to the video given below:

Around thirty trillion cells that are stuck together form the human body in which you reside. In fact, YOU, or rather your SELF, exist in each of these trillions of cells.

Now, how is your SELF different from the SELF that exists in others and in all other living beings? Is each SELF known by some people as ‘Jivatma’ separate from one another? After a person is dead and gone, and when neither face, body, nor DNA exist, how can you tell one ‘Jivatma’ from another?`Do they have ‘Jivatma fingerprints?’ And if ‘Jivatmas’ were truly separate from one another, then they should be made of matter in one of the three states of solid, liquid or gas. What are they made of? Are they some kind of gas? If that were to be the case, they should be made of molecules. So what kind of molecules are they made of?

The lack of general knowledge, common sense, and an overall foundation of rationality are the ones that cause people to believe without questioning whatever ‘yarns’ are spun for them by ‘religious’ people.

Have you read the Srimad Bhagavad Gita? Did Arjuna ever ‘pray to Krishna’ to help him win the war? NO! Arjuna only requested Krishna to accept him as His pupil and impart knowledge to him.

The Srimad Bhagavad Gita is a perfect allegory for your life. The Mahabharata war is not something that takes place between you and others, but it is a perpetual battle between the ‘Pandavas’ and ‘Kauravas’ that represent the positive and negative thoughts in your mind. Remember that both are equally powerful, and therefore, the only way for the good guys or the Pandavas to win over the badies of the Kauravas would be THROUGH KNOWLEDGE. Every sane person has their own intellect or KRISHNA in them, but how many actually choose to be like Arjuna who questions, discusses, contemplates, reflects, and is always eager to learn, is an important question.

The last Shloka SBG 18:78 of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita sums it all up:

SBG 18:78 (Sanjaya says) Wherever there is Krishna, the Master of Yoga; and wherever there is Arjuna, the supreme archer; you will find there, prosperity, happiness, victory and righteousness. Of this fact, I am certain.

What is the moral of Shloka 18:78? A true seeker is one who is eager to learn, is socially responsible, is fearless, and is aware that he is the same All-pervading Supreme Paramatma, temporarily limited by his false belief that he is restricted to the boundaries of his skin on his body. Such a person consults his intellect before performing action, which he does as a sacrifice unto Krishna or his own Higher Self, and by doing so, he can be free from Karmic reactions and comfortably evolve towards the final goal of Ultimate Self-Realisation.

Please read the following translated SBG Shlokas and then watch the video:

SBG 2:18 The material body is perishable but not the eternal, indestructible and immeasurable Self, which has no end.

SBG 2:20 The Self is never born, nor does it die at any time. It does not come into existence by being born. The Self is constant. It is not killed when the body dies.

SBG 2:25 The Self is said to be formless, inconceivable, immutable and unchangeable. Hence, knowing this, you should not grieve.

SBG 6:29 A yogi, whose Self is united with Divine Consciousness, sees the Self abiding in all beings and all beings in the Self. Such a person sees the same everywhere.

SBG 13:02 (13.3 in some editions) You should know that the Kshetrajna or the embodied Self in all bodies or Kshetras is Me, O Arjuna. Knowing about the Kshetra and the Kshetrajnas is called knowledge.

SBG 13:22 (13.23 in some editions) Yet, within the body resides The Supreme Bhagavan who is also called the Spectator, the One who permits, the Supporter and the Transcendental Enjoyer. He is the Paramatma, the Supreme Self.

SBG 13:31 (13:32 in some editions) The imperishable Supreme Self is without any beginning and is devoid of the Gunas or material qualities, O Arjuna. Although it dwells in the body, it neither acts nor is tainted.

SBG 13:32 (13:33 in some editions) Just as the all-pervading ether is not tainted because of its subtlety, the Self that is seated everywhere in the body, does not mix with it nor is affected by it.

SBG 13:33 (13:34 in some editions) Like the sun that illuminates the whole world, the Self or the Soul, which is the Bhagavan of the Kshetram or body, illuminates the whole field, O Arjuna.

SBG 14:19 The one who recognises the Gunas alone as the agent in all actions and treats the Self to be above the Gunas, achieves My (Krishna’s) Divine Nature.

SBG 18:63 I have taught you the secret wisdom, which is deeper than all that is confidential and profound. Reflect fully on what I have declared to you, and do what you wish to do.

You may now watch the video.

Beware of fake relationships

How often have you come across a man or a woman breaking up with their parents? Or siblings breaking up with each other? The relationship between parents and their young ones, or that between siblings, are forever because they are real. There might be misunderstandings or any other situation that could cause separation between such blood relatives, but breakups are extremely rare.

Why is that? It is simply because such relationships occur naturally and are not based on any particular man-made conditions. On the other hand, romantic relationships usually happen when those involved find each other attractive, particularly if they saw in the other person something that they have been looking for, if their general philosophies about life agreed with each other, or if they had similar hobbies. Such cases can be compared to a trade agreement – something like: ‘You give me what I want, and I will give you what you want.’ It should not be overlooked that this sets the foundation for a dualistic possibility of either one of the two or both not providing the other with what they want.

How can people in such a relationship be called people in ‘love’? Where is the love? When a person says that he or she loves someone, it is actually supposed to mean that the other person’s happiness is very important to the person in love, and so he or she interacts with the person they love in a kind and caring manner.

But when one of the two simply walks away, it could only mean that the transactional business between the two dwindled and hence the relationship could not stand. And some call that ‘failed love’! Really? No! There was no love at all, in the first place!

When one of the two decides to leave and start a relationship with someone else or get married to that person, it could prove one of two things:

a. that the person never had any love for the other person he or she dumped, but only had a give-and-take relationship. And when the balance in the ‘give-and-take’ between the two was affected, the person decided to leave.

b. that the person is selfish and is concerned only about his or her own wants.

In both cases, there was no true love.

Osho said:

So, what a gentleman or a cultured woman does when someone they were in a relationship with leaves is that they wish them well and continue to relish the greatest gift of their life – THEIR OWN LIFE!

I have come across young people wasting their lives thinking of someone who left them and waiting for them to return. The question is why would you want to take someone back after they walked over you? How could you ever trust such a person again?

Just imagine you cooked some great food and when you were just about to eat it,

your cat jumps on your table and pushes the plate down. You are forced to clean the ground and throw into the kitchen waste bin all the food which you were so eager to eat.

Now, tell me something. Would you go back to the kitchen waste bin and look for the food you threw away and try to put it back on your plate?

You wouldn’t, would you?

Sorry for using such a crude example, but I am afraid, some people do need this kind of a shocking treatment or else they would never come out of the brainless mental trip of longing for someone who deserted them, and wanting them to come back. Those who have been in contact with me to seek help to handle ‘the pain they face’ due to their breakup, would easily know that this post is aimed directly towards them.

Don’t forget that someone dumped you just like garbage!

Now this is for young jilted lovers: Is a person from the opposite gender, with slightly different anatomical features, so important to you that you are willing to ignore your parents who brought you into this world, love you incessantly, and have been caring for you so well all along as they raised you? Ask yourself honestly, what you find in the person who you feel has dumped you. Whatever may be the reason, can that person’s ‘love’ ever supercede the love your parents have for you?

Stop being moronic. You are with me. Your destiny has given you the chance to learn the ultimate science of nature, life and of all existence in the easiest, quickest, and most scientific way possible.

I am always ready to help you learn Vedanta, but no mambo jumbo stuff, ‘astrological remedies’, ‘special pujas’, and so on! I will share with you the most Supreme KNOWLEDGE that is powerful enough to magically turn your life into a blissful voyage through life.

Take it or leave it.

The choice is yours.

Have you seen how people try to wake people up when they fall unconscious? Gentle slapping on the face is one of the techniques used by a lot of people. Whether it is medically advisable or not is another factor, but we see that many people do come around after a couple of slaps. This post is such a slap to people who have no respect for their own near and dear ones, for Krishna, for Vedanta, and above all, for themselves.

Remember that it is not just you who could get kicked. If you ever felt that there was no intellectual growth or benefit in a relationship with someone, you could confidently start reconsidering the importance of the presence of that person in your life. By doing so, you will learn to value your time on the planet and stop wasting it on someone that you erroneously believed to be your lover.

Truth is bitter, and therefore, do not try to artificially sweeten it using flowery words to describe your stupidity and wrong judgement.

Unpredictability, thy name is LIFE

Those who complain about people, things, or situations in their life conveniently overlook the greatest miracle happening to them every moment of their life. The miracle that I am talking about is LIFE. Most people seem to take their life for granted as if they were entitled to it and that life was some kind of ‘constitutional right’ of theirs.

Think about it. Countless natural operations take place within your mind and body without your direct participation or intervention, and they ensure that all your vital systems work in synchronisation thus enabling you to exist as the individual that you are. Any of those operations could stop anytime and instantaneously turn you into a corpse.

With such a dangerous ‘sword of Damocles’ hanging over the heads of people all the time, people complain about losing their job, losses in business, being jilted by someone they loved, because they are not happy with their looks, about someone who is more successful than them, or not being able to get a visa to go to the USA!

In an old post of mine,The Three Vital Truths in one’s Karmic Journey, I said that if you have three priceless gifts, you are richer than most billionaires. I also explained why I felt so.

Here is an excerpt from that post:

I have three questions for people who complain about life not being as per their expectations:

Q 1. Are you alive?

Q2. Are you healthy?

Q3. Do you consider yourself to be of sound mental health?

If you have answered ‘Yes’ to the above questions, you should be considering yourself to be phenomenally rich. It might sound strange, but it is the truth. Has it ever occurred to you that the three gifts you have are priceless, and that even the richest person with all the wealth in the world cannot buy them?

Early this morning, I heard about the tragic crash in Costa Rica, of a private plane in which the founder and owner of a massive chain of fitness centres in Europe, and his family, including two minors, were travelling. It is in one of his gyms, at which I work out.

The man appeared recently in a television documentary film on billionaires of Europe. He was an enterprising and flamboyant man who possessed almost everything he could dream of in the material world.

With all due respect to the deceased persons, and extending my deep condolences to those they have left behind, I would like to urge you all to take a moment and do the following:

Put aside all your problems, worries, fears, dreams, ambitions, passions, fantasies, and all unfulfilled desires and ask yourself:

1. Am I alive?

2. Am I healthy?

3. Am I of sound mental health?

Now, carry on with what you were doing, knowing that you possess three things that even the richest person cannot buy with all his or her wealth.

Go through the following Shloka, and internalise it if you are currently facing challenges in your life.

(Krishna says) O son of Kunti, transitory perceptions such as happiness and sadness arise from the contact of the senses with sense objects. Like the heat and cold in summer and winter, they too come and go. They are temporary, so learn to endure them.

LIFE IS THE GREATEST GIFT – EXPERIENCE IT – RELISH IT – CELEBRATE IT – BE THANKFUL FOR IT, and NEVER TAKE IT FOR GRANTED.

Foods which augment life, purity, strength, health, happiness and contentment, which are delicious, succulent, substantial and agreeable, are dear to people with the Sattva Guna.

The Greek platonist philosopher Plutarch, who lived between 46 and 119 CE said in his essay on flesh-eating:

The human body has no need for foods that come from animals. As Plutarch says in his essay, humans cannot kill an animal with their teeth or nails and eat it raw without altering its original state.

He also said in his essay, “But more than this – not even, after your victims have been killed, will you eat them just as they are from the slaughterhouse. You boil, roast, and altogether metamorphose them by fire and condiments. You entirely alter and disguise the murdered animal by use of ten thousand sweet herbs and spices, that your natural taste may be deceived and be prepared to take the unnatural food.”

That was about meat and you definitely need to think about the fodder that animals are fed, and the steroid hormone drugs that are used on animals to enhance meat and dairy production.

When did you last think of all the production enhancing substances that are used in the dairy and poultry industries?

Have you ever seen animals queing up before abattoirs or bovine animals lining up before dairy farms to offer their meat and milk respectively? What else but absolute cruelty it is to kill an animal that wants to live its full life, or steal the milk that a bovine animal produces for its own babies? Sorry for this cheeky question, and with all respect to women, would you be willing to consume human milk? No? Then why the milk of a female animal? And then you call the cow your mother? Really? Show me where in the Srimad Bhagavad Gita does Krishna ask people to drink milk or offer Him milk. The fact is that humans are the only species that drink mammary milk even in their adulthood. No animal does that. Have you seen bulls or cows drinking milk even if it was their own mother’s?

Patrik Baboumian a famous Iranian-born German-Armenian VEGAN bodybuilder was once asked, “How can you get as strong as an ox without eating any meat?” Patrik’s answer was, “Have you ever seen an ox eating meat?”

Adult humans around the world are typically lactose intolerant, which means they can no longer consume animal milk and certain dairy products without having digestive problems once weaned from breast milk.

My golden advice to you: RESEARCH WELL.

I am no qualified food or health expert and therefore, I shall not be advising anyone anything on this matter, but all I would say is that you research well and be absolutely sure about what you and your family members consume. ‘We follow what the older generations in our family have been doing’ is not sensible excuse or argument.

Vedanta, which is the ultimate stage of Vedic studies is when a seeker realises the All-pervading Nature of the nondual Divine principle, Brahman, Paramartha Tattvam or Krishna, which is the SELF in all living beings. All living beings, no matter how small or big, are equally Divine, and humans surely have no right over other species.

Here is the sixth of the Ishavasya Upanishad, which is a highly essential Upanishad of the Vedanta philosophy:

यस् तु सर्वाणि भूतान्य्
आत्मन्य् एवानुपश्यति ।
सर्वभूतेषु चात्मानं
ततो न विजुगुप्सते ॥ ६ ॥
yastu sarvaani bhuutaan-yaatman-yevaanu pashyati
sarva bhuuteshu chaathmaanan
tato na viju gupsate (IU 06)
He who sees all beings in the Self and the Self in all beings, and by virtue of that wisdom feels no hatred.

There are some films I suggest that everyone watch because they can be real eye-openers. Please find below links to some films that I would strongly recommend.

After having been a pure vegan for ten years, I can say with certitude that my diet and my physical activities have helped me to such an extent that I am simply amazed. I am certainly fitter, stronger, and healthier than I was a decade ago.

By the way, although I teach the Srimad Bhagavad Gita and the Upanishads, I do not see any need for me to sport a long beard, wear strange clothes, or speak in a slow and effeminate manner.

समं सर्वेषु भूतेषु तिष्ठन्तं परमेश्वरम् |
विनश्यत्स्वविनश्यन्तं यः पश्यति स पश्यति || १३ २७ ||
samam sarveshu bhooteshu
tisht-hantam parameshvaram
vinashyatsva-vinashyantam
yah pashyati sa pashyati
(SBG 13:27)
The person who truly sees is the one who sees the Supreme Soul or Supreme Bhagavan, existing equally in all beings – the unperishing within the perishing.

योगयुक्तो विशुद्धात्मा विजितात्मा जितेन्द्रियः |
सर्वभूतात्मभूतात्मा कुर्वन्नपि न लिप्यते || ५ ७ ||
yogayukto vishuddhaatmaa
vijitaatmaa jitendriyaha
sarva bhootaatma bhootaatmaa
kurvannapi na lipyate (5:07)
A person, who is devoted to the path of selfless action, has a pure mind or a purified soul, has his body and senses under control, is compassionate to all living beings and sees his Self in them, although engaged in work, is never in bondage.

I am proud to be a Vegan Vedantist, which gives me a wonderful feeling that is simply indescribable. I am extremely careful about what I consume and where I consume. Eating out is something I stopped a long time ago. Never take anything or anyone for granted. Do not forget that the only goal of the health and food industries is to make money. They just do not care about your health. Therefore, study, research, learn and go for plant-based whole foods. Avoid packaged foods as far as possible.

Some useful videos which you may watch for the good of yourself and your loved ones.

Yep. I completed 10 years of being PURE VEGAN.

Go VEGAN, exercise regularly and stay calm.

I wish you great, physical, mental, emotional and Karmic health.

Jai Shri Krishna.

Such a soul is very rare…

Shri Bhagavad Krishna says:

बहूनां जन्मनामन्ते ज्ञानवान्मां प्रपद्यते |
वासुदेवः सर्वमिति स महात्मा सुदुर्लभः || ७ १९ ||
bahoonaam janma naamante
jnaana-vaan-maam prapadyate
vaasudevah sarvamiti
sa mahaatmaa sudur-labhaha (SBG 7:19)

Therefore, after innumerable births, the one who has perfected his or her wisdom, understanding fully My universal reality, surrenders to Me and such a soul is very rare.

It is true. Ask yourself if you have ever sincerely tried to study, investigate, research, and experience the Supreme Truth? I’m pretty sure you haven’t. It is simply due to the faulty and childish dualistic ‘god’ concept with which most of you have been raised. I, too, was raised that way, but then I was fortunate to have the opportunity to read the Srimad Bhagavad Gita all by myself and was not forced to listen to some ‘baba’ or ‘guru’ who would take one Shloka and go on and on explaining it until my ears fell off.

As a child, I would ask a lot of questions, and would not settle until the person who gave me answers to my questions could completely satisfy me using REASON AND LOGIC.

In July 2014, I created a post specifically for the 7th Chapter – the Gnyaana Vignyana Yoga of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita.

Krishna says in Shloka SBG 7:19 I quoted at the beginning of this post that a person who truly understands Krishna’s All-pervading Universal nature is very rare. I have been noticing this ever since I started this site in February 2014. Thousands and thousands of people have visited this site and have also contacted me, or communicated with me, but to be honest, I must say that there has been merely a handful of people whom I consider to be true seekers and not mere blind believers.

Take the melting points of different metals. The denser a metal, the higher its melting point. Similarly, people who have underdeveloped knowledge based on duality deeply embedded in their genes through multiple generations, find it easier to believe symbolic stories to be true rather than ‘tax’ their brains to undertake ‘Sadhana’, which is to thoroughly research and study.

Remember these three steps followed by a TRUE SEEKER:

  1. VichaaraNa: Questioning (and not blindly believing and obeying!)
  2. Shodhana: Searching and Researching
  3. Anubhava: Experiencing the knowledge gained

I do not pander to people who are looking for their ego to be pampered simply because by doing so, I would only be wasting their time and my time, and in the end, there will surely be no positive result.

Instead, I give them the hard truth, which might be bitter in the beginning but later on, it will turn their life into a much better experience.

Below are the three kinds of pleasures explained by Krishna in the 18th Chapter:

SBG 18:37 That, which first seems like poison but in the end is like nectar, is said to be Sattvic. It is born of one’s pure intellect, which is situated in Self-realisation.

SBG 18:38 The happiness or pleasure which is first like nectar due to the contact of sense organs and sense objects, but in the end is like poison, is said to be Rajasic.

SBG 18:39 The pleasure which shrouds Self-realisation right from the beginning until the end and is derived from sleep, indolence and delusion, is declared to be Tamasic.

I always go for Sattvic pleasure, and I hope that is what you too would go for.

How many of you have bought my latest book ‘Capture the Essence – Srimad Bhagavad Gita’ and taken the courses I offer at Tavamithram’s Udemy Learning Centre?

A particular comment with feedback from someone who completed my ‘An Intro to the Vedas and 10 Upanishads by Tavamithram‘ course truly impressed me. It is a short message, but it showed me the seeker in the person.

Below is the comment and my response to the seeker.

Anyone who wishes to change his or her life would need to etch this statement in their mind: “If I continue to do what I have always done, I will continue to get what I have always got.” There will be no change if you do not change.

At least now, consider making use of the study materials I offer that are so simple to use and learn from, and those that teach you how to apply them in your life.

Evolve and improve your life.

Stay blessed.

Jai Shri Krishna.

Nataraja described by Aldous Huxley

This is not for ritualists or religious people, but for those who can think intellectually and comprehend the deep symbolism and allegory used in ancient Indian philosophy.

Aldous Huxley, who authored books such as Brave New World, The Doors of Perception and Heaven and Hell, Island, The Perennial Philosophy, The Devils of Loudon, Point Counter Point and Eyes on Gaza, describes the significance and comprehensiveness of the symbol of Nataraja or Dancing Shiva.

Whichever ‘religious’ ‘guru’, ‘baba’ or ‘amma’ spins stories out of the symbolism and metaphor used in Vedic literature and convinces people, especially children, to take them literally, is a social criminal because the acts of such a person actually paralyse the natural intelligence of humans.

‘Devotional films’ add to the misery and plant allegories in the form of reality in the minds of the ignorant and unsuspecting masses.

USE YOUR INTELLIGENCE! There are no such things as blind belief, obedience, confession, and so on in the Vedic Sanatana Dharma as they are in many organised religions!

Be a seeker. Ask questions. Research. Analyse, Study. And EXPERIENCE!

How many times have you heard an Indian ‘guru’ or ‘baba’ explaining the Nataraja statues in a manner as lucid as Aldous Huxley’s? Listen to Aldous Huxley, whom I deeply admire, describe the NATARAJA SYMBOL.

Shame on all the babas, gurus, ammas, akkas, ritualists, and psedo-religious people who contribute towards disfiguring the timeless, rational and scientific Vedic Sanatana Dharma to appear like some kind of cheap dogmatic religion, with macabre ideas such as ‘fear of ‘god”, ‘the punishment of ‘god”, and so on!!

For Indians not even to spend three to four hours reading even a translation of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita – the nectar of all Upanishads, is nothing but laziness or stupidity! How a lot of Indians just love to sit for hours listening to some bearded charlatan talking sheer nonsense just amazes me! Do they not have any intentions of growing up and evolving spiritually?

Trust, Disappointment, and Pain

Definitions of the terms Trust, Pain and Disappointment:

Trust (n): a feeling of confidence in someone that shows you believe they are honest, fair, and reliable

Disappointment (n): the feeling of being unhappy because something that you hoped for or expected did not happen, or because someone or something was not as good as you expected.

Pain (n): – the feeling of great discomfort you have, for example when you have been hurt or when you are ill.

– is the feeling of unhappiness that you have when something unpleasant or upsetting happens.

From the dictionary definitions of the three terms, one can conclude that all three are directly related to the manner one perceives and judges a situation or a person.

When you trust someone, it means that he or she behaves in a way that agrees with your idea or standard of being honest or doing things right.

You are disappointed when someone or something is not as you expect or does not behave in a manner you want them to do, but the intensity of your emotion is not high enough to actually cause you pain.

You suffer mental pain and unhappiness when someone or something does something that is not at all as you expect, and the person suddenly changes how they behave or interact with you.

When you carefully analyse the above definitions and explanations of the three terms, you will realise that all three emotions are directly proportionate to what you consider to be right.

Ramesh trusts his friend Ajay and confides in him about everything in his personal life. Sometime later, Ajay finds a new wealthy friend, and he turns his friendship and loyalty towards that new friend. This DISAPPOINTS Ramesh. But when Ramesh notices that Ajay has stopped talking to him, and comes to know that Ajay has revealed to his new friend some extremely confidential information about him, he experiences shock and mental PAIN because of being let down by someone he trusted so much.

We can conclude from the above example that the PAIN Ramesh suffers begins with the TRUST he placed in Ajay. Therefore, logically speaking, the prime cause of Ramesh’s PAIN is the TRUST he placed in Ajay.

When you suffer heartbreaks, instead of blaming the person who broke your heart, or let you down, try to understand that it was your poor judgement of someone’s trustworthiness that led you to disappointment and to mental pain.

The simplest relief from such PAIN, which, in truth, is SELF-INFLICTED, would be to own up to your mistake, learn from the experience, and be more careful next time.

You can avoid encountering such painful situations in the future by keeping the key to your happiness with you always and never giving it to anyone – ever.

Study the Srimad Bhagavad Gita and strive to gain Atmajnana, or the Knowledge of the SELF. Once you’ve mastered your mind, the day when you laugh at situations you now call sad is just around the corner.

All the expectations that you have from others are nothing but the result of your desire to keep your pseudo-self or false ego puffed up, pampered, and fully satisfied. If you truly loved someone, you would not expect them to behave with you in a certain way that merely satisfies your pride or manages some kind of complex that you might have, but you would only wish them well and let them be happy just as you wish to be happy all the time.

The more you trust a person, which means the more you expect them to be in a certain manner that you deem right, and satisfy your pride, ego or whatever you might want to call the pseudo-self of yours, the heavier will your pain be when you find yourself in a situation in which, you think, the other person has let you down.

Remember: The first thing you should do, regardless of how unpleasant the situation might be, is to COME TO TERMS WITH IT, AT LEAST TEMPORARILY. If you do that, your intellect will be able to triumph over the emotions that have numbed your brain, and you will be able to find peace with yourself and focus on what matters to you now and in the future rather than wasting your time on someone or something that is nothing more than a learning experience for you.

Nothing or No one is worth wasting your NOW for.

Don’t worry, be happy.

Stay blessed.

When marrying…

This is an extremely important piece of advice for young people who are single and intend to get married.

People are mostly attracted by impermanent factors such as good looks, wealth, and status, and they completely overlook the fact that nothing stays the same forever.

It would be worth reflecting on the quote by Friedrich Nietzsche before taking any major decision in life.
